To provide safe and reliable water service to the customers of the Daviess County Water District in order to promote and protect the health of the community at the most efficient and economical cost possible.

Merger
The Southeast Daviess County Water District and the West Daviess County Water District received approval from the Kentucky Public Service Commission to merge together to form the Daviess County Water District effective January 1, 2021. As a result, this site; www.daviesswater.org, was developed combining the previously utilized www.southeastdaviesswater.org and www.westdaviesswater.org sites. The previous sites are currently being routed into this site.

Water Source

The Daviess County Water District purchases potable water from Owensboro Municipal Utilities who draw the water from an underground aquifer located along US Highway 60 East. The Daviess County Water District then pumps the water to customers of Daviess County.

System Attributes

  • Over 13,800 water meters
  • Pumping capacity of approximately seven million gallons per day
